Have you heard of her... have you ? Well, we are talking about Mr. Kate ! Baffled by the name? Let us explain. She is a jewellery designer based in L.A. and has caught fancy of the likes of Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie King.
She started this brand back in 2009, while making edgy handmade jewellery for men and women both, and hence the crossover name. What we loved recently is her D.I.Y for hinge earrings ! Yes ! Can you imagine hardware being beautiful jewelery... Well in the world of Mr. Kate it can.
The steps are simple and quick. All the pictures below are the copyright of Mr. Kate and so is the idea. We just wanted to spread it among our readers ! So go on and give it a shot !
You will need : Pliers, wire cutter, light weight brass beautiful hinges from the hardware store, open brass jump rings - 2 big 2 small, brass or gold plated earring wires, E600 glue.
Using a toothpick, apply the glue to the hinge so that they do not bend.
Attach the larger jumpring with the help of pliers, onto the hole on one side of the hinge. Attach your smaller jumpring to the bigger one and then finally attach the earring wire to it. Voila and it's done !
